Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Paul Richardson is “ahead of schedule” in his rehab, head coach Pete Carroll said after Monday’s practice. However, he’s still not expected to be ready for the start of the regular season and remains on the PUP list.
Paul Richardson ‘ahead of schedule’ but unlikely to make early fantasy impact
The second-year wideout is making steady progress on his ACL rehab, but he’s not expected to be ready for the start of the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

Richardson tore his ACL in the Seahawks’ Divisional Round win over the Carolina Panthers. The 2014 second-round pick had a quiet rookie year, but he started playing a bigger role in the offense once Seattle traded Percy Harvin to the New York Jets. Richardson finished the 2014 season with 29 catches for 271 yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy impact: Richardson’s progress is encouraging, but he’s still expected to start the season on the reserve/PUP list, which would sideline him for the first six weeks. Richardson’s biggest asset is his speed, so it remains to be seen how he will bounce back from a severe knee injury. He doesn’t offer much fantasy upside in a run-first offense and is a Dynasty league stash at best. Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse and rookie Tyler Lockett are penciled in as Seattle’s top three receivers.
