For onlooking fantasy owners, Bishop Sankey and rookie David Cobb remain in a murky backfield situation with the Tennessee Titans after mixed efforts by both backs through two preseason games.
Bishop Sankey, David Cobb forming tandem only for desperate fantasy owners
With Bishop Sankey coming off of a lackluster rookie season and with David Cobb failing to surpass him on the depth chart thus far, fantasy owners aren’t encouraged by what they see in Tennessee. We break down the fantasy implications.

Sankey turned in a promising effort on Sunday versus the St. Louis Rams, toting the ball six times for 45 yards while working with the ones. His counterpart, Cobb, managed 26 yards on eight carries while also seeing time in the starting offense.
Fantasy Spin: The Titans backfield remains one to monitor for those who are looking for high-volume upside in the late rounds of drafts, but there hasn't been encouraging news for diligent owners yet. Sankey has undoubtedly left a sour taste in the mouths of those who took a chance on him during a dismal 2014 campaign. Additionally, with neither back distinguishing himself from the other thus far, the Titans early-down role has a committee approach written all over it. Dexter McCluster remains hanging on to the third-down duties.
Amid an offense with a low floor, a divided backfield isn’t something many fantasy owners will want to invest in, leaving Sankey and Cobb as late-round fliers at best.
