The St. Louis Rams announced on Monday that running back Todd Gurley has been cleared to practice. Gurley still needs to be cleared for full contact practices but he’s participating in team drills, which is a big step forward in his rehab.
Todd Gurley cleared for practice, still has long road to make fantasy impact
The first-round rookie took a step forward in his ACL recovery. We break down the fantasy implications.

Gurley is making his way back from a torn ACL suffered last November. The Rams are bringing him along slowly, although they hope to have him play a role in his rookie year. St. Louis selected Gurley with the No. 10 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
Fantasy impact: Gurley won’t play in the preseason and the Rams plan on holding him out of the first couple games of the regular season. Still, returning to practice is a good sign for Gurley’s progress and fantasy owners should keep him stashed on their benches for the time being. Tre Mason is slated to start in the Rams’ backfield and carries rock-solid RB2 value in a run-first offense. We’ll learn a lot more about Gurley’s regular season status over the next few weeks.
