Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy practiced on Thursday, per beat reporter Matthew Fairburn. McCoy departed from the Bills' practice on Aug. 18 with a hamstring injury, but after an MRI, it was assumed the Bills' feature back would be ready for Week 1.
LeSean McCoy practices on Thursday, encourages fantasy owners
The Bills’ top running back provided reason for optimism regarding his health on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

It’s an encouraging sign that McCoy took the field on Thursday, although it’s worth mentioning that the Bills are not practicing in full pads. McCoy still has 17 days to get healthy for the season opener, and the Bills will likely take it easy on their star running back until that time.
Fantasy Spin: With the lack of feature backs across the league, and with McCoy’s potential, it’s hard to fault a fantasy owner for using an early-round selection to draft him. However, hamstring injuries have a tendency to linger.
Owners are well aware that it could be a season of frustration for those who opt to draft a running back that could have a consistent “questionable” designation on the injury reports.
McCoy remains a high-upside RB1, but owners have to prepare themselves for a disappointing outcome.
