Ryan Mallett misses practice on Thursday, fantasy value unchanged
Texans quarterback Ryan Mallett missed practice on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Mallett is fully expected to be back at practice on Friday. Coach Bill O’Brien did state that the reasoning behind his absence was a personal issue between coach and player, so it may be just a matter of sour grapes considering Brian Hoyer was anointed the team’s starting quarterback earlier in the week.
If that is the case, it doesn’t score Mallett any brownie points with the team’s coaching staff, so he will likely ride the pine for Houston throughout most of the season -- unless of course Hoyer falters or gets hurt, which has happened before. Fantasy owners won’t exactly lose sleep over Mallett’s absence, nor should they get too excited about Hoyer’s prospects as a starter. In general, Houston’s options on offense are mediocre, especially with running back Arian Foster out for a big chunk of time.
