New England Patriots wide receiver Brandon LaFell is a candidate to open the season on the reserve/PUP list, according to ESPNBoston's Mike Reiss.
Brandon LaFell may begin season on reserve/PUP, fantasy stock dwindling
In addition to Tom Brady, the Patriots may be without one of their most productive wide receivers to begin the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

LaFell sported a walking boot at spring practices, and "mum" has been the word regarding his injury since then. LaFell proved to be valuable in the Patriots receiving corps in 2014, but now it appears that the offense will have yet another obstacle to overcome, with Tom Brady's looming suspension as well.
Fantasy Spin: The Patriots are looking at a receiving arsenal that comprises Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola and Reggie Wayne as its primary Week 1 wideouts, leaving Jimmy Garoppolo a bit shorthanded. Expect Rob Gronkowski to be leaned on even more heavily in Brady's absence, especially with the offense searching for ways to replace production left on the table from a receiver who logged 953 yards and seven touchdowns in 2014.
LaFell is currently being taken in the ninth round of fantasy drafts, but that could slip even further in the coming days.
