In the latest twist of the Washington quarterback controversy, Kirk Cousins will start Week 1, per a source of ESPN's Diane Marie Russini.
Kirk Cousins to start Week 1 per report, presents fantasy upside for his WRs
Per a former beat reporter of the team, Washington is expected to begin the season with Kirk Cousins under center over Robert Griffin III. We break down the fantasy implications.

It's a report that Head Coach Jay Gruden confirmed on Monday. it's a call that seemed obvious in the wake of the drama surrounding Robert Griffin III and Washington's brass. In the third preseason game, Cousins began shakily, throwing an interception on a screen play, but finished 20-of-27 with 190 yards and a touchdown in one half of play.
Fantasy Spin: Fantasy owners in need of a quarterback will hopefully not have to invest in who Washington puts under center. Though Cousins has put up gaudy yardage totals in the past, his penchant for turnovers does not make him a preferred option in standard leagues. There is depth at the quarterback position in 2015, and Cousins would be a low-end QB2 as a result.
For DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon owners, Cousins starting allows them a higher floor. In three of Cousins' six appearances, Jackson posted 100-yard outings, and Garcon notched his highest catch and yardage total of the season with Cousins at the helm in Week 3.
