Denver Broncos running back Montee Ball already lost his chance of winning a starting job, and he might also lose his roster spot. The Denver Post says that Ball is on the roster bubble and in danger of being cut when teams finalize their 53-man rosters next week.
Montee Ball on the roster bubble, fantasy window is closing
Montee Ball continues to fall down the depth chart and might not even make the final roster in Denver. We break down the fantasy implications.

Ball didn’t get a single carry until the fourth quarter in Denver’s third preseason game. Ronnie Hillman has solidified his grip on the No. 2 job with a strong preseason, while Juwan Thompson is putting pressure on Ball for the third-string job. The Broncos are unlikely to keep four running backs, so Ball will have to make a big impression in Thursday’s preseason finale to save his job.
Fantasy impact: It’s been a rough 12 months for Ball, who was one of the top fantasy breakout candidates before injuries ruined his 2014 season. He has since lost his starting job to Anderson and has done little to gain the confidence of a new coaching staff. Ball should land on another team if he gets cut by the Broncos, although he would have to pass through waivers first. Still 24 years old, there’s time for Ball to salvage his career, but he’s a long shot to have any fantasy relevance in 2015.
