Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is still weeks away from a return, but was seen doing some light running on the side during Thursday's practice.
Arian Foster moving ‘quickly’ off to the side, fantasy owners patiently wait for return
The bell cow of the Houston Texans backfield continues to make strides to return to the field. We break down the fantasy implications.
Beat reporter Aaron Wilson noted that Foster was running “quickly” and “decisively” as he recovers from a groin tear that sidelined him throughout much of the preseason. Foster is still not expected to play before October, although no official timetable for his return has been specified.
Fantasy Spin: It's encouraging news for a veteran player who sustained a severe injury to already be running so well at this phase of his recovery, but fantasy owners will have to remain patient. Alfred Blue will take the bulk of the snaps in the Texans' backfield, but once Foster proves healthy, Blue won't likely pose any threat to take his job.
Foster appears to be well on track to resuming his fantasy status as a weekly RB2. At this point in time, there hasn’t been anything to suggest he won’t be the focal point of the offense upon returning.
