Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill had a strong showing in the preseason. He posted a 121.8 passer rating, completing 33 of 41 passes for 303 yards and three touchdowns. No other NFL starter completed that many passes while not throwing an interception.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 1: Ryan Tannehill has high floor
Tannehill is a popular breakout player. Should fantasy owners count on him to start the season?
Tannehill is coming into 2015 with a ton of weapons. Receiver Jarvis Landry has a full year under his belt, the team drafted DeVante Parker in the first round, they picked up Jordan Cameron at tight end and their offensive line is improving. All of these reasons are why Tannehill is one of the most popular breakout candidates.
This week, he'll kick off his 2015 campaign against a weak Washington defense. Their cornerbacks are among the worst in the league and they really haven't added anyone to their front seven. Plus, Landry is likely going to be covered by Justin Rogers, who hasn't been on an NFL roster since 2013.
Fantasy impact: There is a little risk here, but he should be viewed as a top-10 play this week. Tannehill’s upside is high and the chances of a total dud seem low. Hopefully it doesn’t turn into a blowout.
