Tre Mason's hamstring has officially kept him out of the St. Louis Rams' regular season opener on Sunday. Mason will be inactive for Week 1. Benny Cunningham will likely take lead back duties against the Seattle Seahawks. Isaiah Pead would be next on the depth chart.
Tre Mason injury update: Rams RB inactive for fantasy owners Week 1
Tre Mason won’t be playing on Sunday. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: Mason is owned in over half of Yahoo! leagues, but was largely a value pick as fantasy owners await the arrival of rookie running back Todd Gurley. Hopefully Mason wasn’t being relied on outside of deepers leagues.
Seattle will be a challenging run defense for anyone in St. Louis’ backfield. However, Mason rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown the last time the two teams faced each other in St. Louis. Cunningham makes for a bit of a gamble as a flex. His workload should warrant consideration though. The Seahawks won’t completely shut down the run game on the road. Cunningham is owned in less than 10 percent of Yahoo! leagues. He’s there if you need him.
