Second-year Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr suffered a hand injury late in the first half of the team's blowout loss Sunday. Carr was replaced by Matt McGloin at quarterback and did not return to the game, which the Raiders eventually lost, 33-13, to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Derek Carr suffers hand injury, Matt McGloin doesn’t offer fantasy upside
The Raiders lost their second-year quarterback in a blowout loss to the Bengals. We break down the fantasy implications.

Before leaving the game, Carr completed 7 of 12 passes for 61 yards. He produced no scores and didn't turn the ball over. McGloin went 23-of-31 for 142 yards, two touchdowns, an interception and a lost fumble. He produced both Oakland scores with passes to fullback Marcel Reece.
Fantasy impact: There were enough questions about Carr’s fantasy outlook entering the season before even considering the value of his backup. Carr, whose rookie year was largely built on unsustainable red zone success -- he was significantly worse outside the last 20 yards -- needed a lot to break right to be anything more than a fantasy afterthought in 2015.
It’ll probably be sometime Monday before a real prognosis is out on Carr’s hand, but an injury to a quarterbacks’ throwing hand isn’t anything you like to hear. McGloin actually played reasonably well in Carr’s absence, but it came after the Bengals were already well ahead and had called off the dogs. If Carr were to miss time, McGloin wouldn’t be worth much of a fantasy look.
