The Dallas Cowboys won a wild one over the New York Giants in Week 1’s Sunday Night Football contest, but the Cowboys suffered a big loss in the game. Wide receiver Dez Bryant left the game with a foot injury, and after the game Jerry Jones said it was a broken bone in his foot. Following the game, Jason Garrett told the assembled media Bryant would need surgery, and the initial diagnosis is a 4-6 week absence.
Dez Bryant breaks bone in foot, fantasy owners should look to Terrance Williams
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant broke his foot in the team’s Week 1 win over the New York Giants. We break down the fantasy implications.

Bryant left the game having caught five passes for 48 yards. Lance Dunbar and Jason Witten each finished the game with eight receptions, and combined for 130 yards. Witten had two touchdown catches.
Fantasy impact: The loss is a big one for fantasy owners. Bryant was likely a first-round pick in your league, and counted on to be a significant impact player. In his absence, Tony Romo will likely continue relying on Witten and his running backs. Among the other wide receivers, Terrance Williams had five catches for 60 yards, and Beasley had four receptions for 49 yards. The rest went to tight ends and running backs.
Williams has the most upside in that group of receivers. He’s had some sleeper love since entering the league in 2013, but has never quite fully emerged. He had 44 receptions for 736 yards and five touchdowns as a rookie, and then had 37 receptions for 621 yards and eight touchdowns in 2014. This could provide a big opportunity for Williams, and might make him worth a waiver wire stash.
