Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota had a perfect start to his career — at least according to passer rating. The rookie put up a perfect 158.3 with his stat line of 209 passing yards, four scores and no interceptions on 13-of-16 passing.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Marcus Mariota
Can Marcus Mariota keep it up after his tremendous start? We break down the fantasy implications?
The Titans brilliantly set up the offense for Mariota with plenty of short passes. Still, his receivers were able to get plenty of yards after the catch, but that probably won’t continue. Their Week 1 opponent, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have an abysmal defense and things won’t be getting any easier.
Things aren’t necessarily hard this week for Mariota as he’ll travel to FirstEnergy Stadium to take on the Cleveland Browns. While the Browns rushing defense can’t stop a nose bleed, their pass D is improving with corner back Joe Haden. Plus, their safeties are solid with Donte Whitner and Tashaun Gipson.
Fantasy impact: While it makes sense to add Mariota to any team without Aaron Rodgers or Andrew Luck, he’s a tough start this week. He’s more of a QB15-20 despite his outstanding start.
