The Green Bay Packers saw their 2014 season end in heartbreaking fashion, losing to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Championship after the Seahawks completed a crazy comeback to win in overtime. On Sunday night, the 1-0 Packers look for revenge against the 0-1 Seahawks.
Fantasy football advice, Week 2: Who to start/sit for Seahawks vs. Packers on Sunday night
It’s the third time these two teams have faced in the last year-plus, and man are there storylines.
From a fantasy perspective, the Seahawks come into the game basically healthy, with no fantasy-relevant players having any notable injuries. The Packers are pretty healthy considering their current personnel. Wide receiver Randall Cobb is still dealing with a shoulder injury, but he's expected to be fully active.
The Packers will host the Seahawks Sunday, with the game scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. Let’s take a look at the fantasy names to consider:
SEAHAWKS
Start 'em: It wasn't a great Week 1 for Russell Wilson, but not all defenses are the St. Louis Rams' defense. He's a fine QB1 going forward. ... Even as the Seattle offensive line works out its kinks, Marshawn Lynch looks to have a strong matchup and will be a fine RB1. ... Jimmy Graham switched teams, but his strong production keeps on going. ... Steven Hauschka is one of the top handful of kicking options in the league. ... Even against an offense like Green Bay's, if you have the Seahawks' defense, you're using it.
Sit 'em: There wasn't much for Fred Jackson in his Seattle debut; he's off the fantasy radar for now. ... The Seattle receivers don't offer a lot of upside. Doug Baldwin and Jermaine Kearse will have moments, but they'll be unpredictable, and Tyler Lockett doesn't look to be helpful outside of leagues with heavy consideration for return yardage.
PACKERS
Start 'em: The flip side of the Seattle defense point above is: Even against a defense like Seattle's, if you have Aaron Rodgers, you're using him. ... Seattle let Benny Cunningham go for more than 100 total yards last week, and Eddie Lacy is much better than Benny Cunningham. ... Even hindered by his shoulder, Randall Cobb is a must-start receiver. ... It must be nice to be the kicker for the Packers' offense, like Mason Crosby is.
Start 'em?: Week 1 was a bit disappointing for Davante Adams, but the Chicago Bears took special care to shut him down, and he was still Green Bay's most-targeted receiver. He'll be fine. ... The Packers' defense is good, if not elite.
Sit 'em: The two touchdowns out of nowhere were fine for James Jones, but that's the kind of production that is unlikely to continue. ... Richard Rodgers has a bit of upside, just by being the Green Bay tight end, but he's not doing much with it yet. Avoid for now.
