Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton didn’t have an eye-popping game against the Oakland Raiders last week, completing 25 of 34 passes for 269 yards and two scores. That’s not bad in what was an easy 33-13 win on the road.

The Raiders didn’t blitz Dalton, which came as a surprise based on how well their blitz worked in the preseason. Although, their concern for their corners probably explains it why they weren’t willing to pressure. That may explain why Dalton couldn’t get receiver A.J. Green going down the field.
This week, he’ll get a tiny secondary on the San Diego Chargers. While Detroit Lions receiver Calvin Johnson surprisingly couldn’t crack the Chargers defense and let down a lot of his owners, the Chargers are really going to have to focus on stopping running back Jeremy Hill. That should really open things up. Plus, Tyler Eifert should also be able to roam free in the second level.
Fantasy impact: Dalton isn’t quite a must-start and he’s probably not a guy to use in 10-team leagues, but give him a look as a QB11-12 if your QB has a bad matchup this week.
