Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is making his way back to the lineup slowly but surely. He finally saw his return to practice on Thursday of this week, practicing in a limited fashion then and on Friday as well. Unfortunately, Tate was still ruled out for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
Arian Foster injury update: RB out for Texans, fantasy owners in Week 2
Arian Foster will miss another game, but he did practice this week for the first time.
Foster tore his groin muscle in August and is just now practicing for the first time since said injury. With Foster out, Alfred Blue will get the start once again.
Fantasy Spin: Foster has a long injury history that fantasy owners have to be used to at this point. Still, when he's healthy, he's looked great, putting up 1,246 rushing yards and eight touchdowns in 13 games last season. Fantasy owners will now have their eyes on a Week 3 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, for which Foster will be a must-start if his return to practice is a sign that he's going to be back in the lineup shortly.
Blue had 42 yards, Jonathan Grimes had 28 yards and Chris Polk had 22 yards in the Texans' Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. They're not inspiring numbers and Blue isn't the best handcuff in the league at this stage. That said, with more touches, he might be worth a look if he's your best option.
