Tre Mason will be making his regular season debut on Sunday. Mason has been dealing with a hamstring injury he suffered during the preseason. Tre Mason injury update: Rams RB is active for fantasy owners Week 2
Tre Mason will suit up against Washington. We take a look at the fantasy implications.
Mason was expected to handle the workload as rookie Todd Gurley started the season nursing a torn ACL suffered at Georgia. Mason had an impressive 2014 season, but was never considered a workhorse back. It’s likely he’ll see 15-20 carries in Week 2 with Cunningham picking up the slack.
Fantasy impact: Washington may feel like a cake match up for any offensive player fantasy owners have, but it’s worth noting that they’re above average at containing the run. Still, expect Mason to see a decent enough volume to warrant a low-end RB2 start if needed. We’d be more comfortable with him as a flex option in all formats.
