Lip readers who watched the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles game on Sunday knew there wouldn't be much good news to report. Not after seeing quarterback Tony Romo mouth "it's broken" on the sidelines, following a crushing hit to his shoulder area.
Report: Cowboys will likely put Romo on IR designation to return list, will remain stashed on fantasy benches
The Cowboys suffered a massive blow on Sunday after concluding an initial diagnosis of a fracture of Tony Romo’s collarbone. We break down the fantasy implications.

The initial diagnosis is a fractured collarbone, but ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that Romo will undergo a CT scan. If it matches what the Cowboys feared, then the team will use their IR designated to return spot on their franchise quarterback.
That designation would mean Romo could not play for a minimum for eight weeks, or practice for six.
Fantasy Spin: It only took two weeks for those invested in the Cowboys offense to want to get rid of their shares. Romo is expected to miss 10-12 weeks with the injury, and Dez Bryant is already out long-term after having foot surgery.
There’s still a chance that Romo returns in time for a late-season push for fantasy owners, but the trick will be staying competitive enough in the meantime for it to matter.
Owners would be advised to keep Romo stashed until he proves healthy, but will likely have to resort to streaming in his absence. Brandon Weeden, Romo's backup, is not on the fantasy radar at this time.
