New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is expected to miss games with a shoulder injury, according to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Details of the injury are scarce, but Rapoport noted that the QB could potentially miss several games.
Drew Brees expected to miss some games, creating huge void for fantasy owners
Drew Brees’ shoulder injury appears to be enough to sideline him for several games. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter later reported that an MRI did not reveal severe damage, although Bree’s Week 3 status remains up in the air.
Brees took a hit to his shoulder early in the first half of Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was able to play the remainder of the game, but admitted that the injury was affecting his play. Brees also stated that he felt fine moving forward -- however, that doesn't appear to be the case after all.
Before word of Brees' injury took a turn for the worse, Saints coach Sean Payton casually expressed concern for Brees' arm, but said that it was too early to know if it would prevent Brees from playing in Week 3. However, rumors of Brees' injury began circulating on Monday. Luke McCown is the next quarterback on the depth chart. McCown will have an uphill battle, as the Saints have started the season with a record of 0-2.
Fantasy impact: This is a huge blow for fantasy owners who invested a mid-round pick on Brees. If there's any consolation, it's that quarterbacks are cropping up each week as viable streamers. With young talent on a lot of waiver wires, such as Marcus Mariota, Derek Carr and Tyrod Taylor, there are lifelines out there for Brees owners.
Still, the loss of Brees creates a ripple effect for the rest of the talent on the Saints' roster. There's no telling who McCown will lean on in the passing game, and teams will likely stack the box against Mark Ingram, C.J. Spiller and Khiry Robinson. If you own any Saints players, stay put. There is no reason to sell them at their lowest value just yet.
