The Cleveland Browns announced Wednesday that quarterback Josh McCown has been cleared from his concussion and will start Sunday vs. the Oakland Raiders instead of Johnny Manziel.
Josh McCown cleared, will unseat Manziel from starting for Browns, fantasy owners
The Browns will turn to their veteran quarterback instead of Johnny Manziel on Sunday, despite coming off of a win. We break down the fantasy implications.

Manziel led the Browns to their first win of the season in Week 2 vs. the Tennessee Titans while making big plays and evading pressure. However, Manziel also displayed his penchant for not taking care of the football after fumbling four times in his two appearances and adding an interception as well.
Fantasy impact: Manziel’s big-play element will be missed in the fantasy football community, but it’s apparent that the Browns would rather have a quarterback who does a better job at taking care of the football. That said, if McCown isn’t able to do that, expect a massive push for Manziel to unseat him as the starter.
McCown is not up for fantasy consideration in standard formats, and the value of wide receiver Travis Benjamin can be downgraded with the veteran under center. Manziel can be safely dropped into the waiver wire, due to the depth of the quarterback position.
