New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees said he's "pretty confident" he'll play in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers. Earlier reports from this week suggested that Brees could miss time due to a bruised rotator cuff.
Drew Brees ‘confident’ he’ll play in Week 3, could have fantasy value this week
Drew Brees says he’s confident that he will play in Week 3. We break down the fantasy implications.

Just before Brees signed with the Saints back in 2006, Dr. James Andrews performed surgery on Brees' shoulder due to a 360-degree tear in his rotator cuff. Brees was coming along swimmingly, with a Super Bowl ring and multiple passing yardage crowns.
If you saw him on Sunday against the awful Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary, you saw a different Brees. He couldn't get the ball down the field and his receivers couldn't get open. Part of this is due to former tight end Jimmy Graham now being with the Seattle Seahawks, but Brees also has this shoulder issue, which figures to be a problem for the foreseeable future.
Fantasy impact: Even though Brees could suit up, he’s in a bad matchup and he’s yet to prove he’s worthy of being a fantasy starter through two games. If you own any Saint, it might be time to start shopping.
