Editor’s note: Ian Rapoport is reporting Gurley flew his family into St. Louis for Week 3, which indicates he believes he will be active for the first time. Adam Schefter is reporting it is highly likely Gurley is active. There is no word on his role quite yet.
Todd Gurley injury update: RB questionable, will play for fantasy owners
The St. Louis Rams running back is listed as questionable for Week 3. We break down the fantasy implications.
St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley (knee) is listed as questionable for the team's Week 3 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite the questionable tag, Gurley was a full participant in practice Wednesday through Friday and the first-round pick is fully expected to make his NFL debut on Sunday.
Fantasy impact: Even though Gurley is in for some work this week, owners shouldn't get ahead of themselves. The Rams have been extremely cautious with the rookie and he'll likely be eased into the action. Gurley and Tre Mason split carries evenly throughout practice this week and there's reason to believe that will remain the case on Sunday, with Benny Cunningham sprinkled into the mix on passing downs. Owners would be wise not to expect much more than 10 carries for him. Owners also should consider that the Steelers give up the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs. Gurley isn't more than an RB3/Flex option in Week 3.
