Since their acquisitions of Ryan Mathews and Demarco Murray, it was known the Philadelphia Eagles would divide their backfield to some extent. But the specifics of how it will shape out are still unknown.
Demarco Murray could take 65 percent of Eagles carries, fantasy value remains high
The Eagles’ backfield will be a committee approach, but Murray remains at the foreground of their rushing attack. We break down the fantasy implications.

However, according to beat reporter Eliot Shorr-Parks, the speculation is that Murray will be the primary back with 65 percent of the split, leaving 30 percent for Mathews and 5 percent for Darren Sproles.
Fantasy Spin: The Eagles ran the ball 474 times in 2014, so if that trend repeats and Murray comprises 65 percent of those touches, it would put him at 308 carries. That’s another massive workload for someone who had 449 touches a season ago, so it’s worth pondering whether Murray would hold up once again once the weather gets cold.
The main bullet point of Shorr-Parks’ comment isn’t that Murray’s fated for a certain percentage, but that he is clearly seen as an integral part of the offense. Whether his percentage of carries is 65, 60, or 55, the Eagles offense remains a prolific one that Murray can provide plenty of fantasy points within. He remains a mid-level RB1, while Mathews has low standalone value in standard formats.
