If fantasy football owners were to vote for the most disappointing player to have in 2014, Vernon Davis would absolutely be nominated, if not hold the top spot altogether.
Vernon Davis dubbed ‘fantasy sleeper’ per beat reporter, remains low TE2 option
In wake of a disappointing 2014 campaign, Davis appears ready to bounce back. We break down the fantasy implications.

Despite that, reports out of camp are humming a different tune from the abysmal performance Davis posted a season ago. Per beat reporter Paul Gutierrez, the San Francisco 49ers offense will depend heavily on tight ends this season, and by extension, that means Davis will be in line for an uptick in fantasy production for 2015.
Fantasy Spin: If Davis improves on his numbers in 2014, it will likely be by default over any other reason. Davis was not targeted in the end zone after Week 1 of 2014, and never topped 44 yards in any single game. In total, Davis caught 26 passes for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns over 14 games. That line was good enough for 36th among tight ends in fantasy scoring.
Even in context with his horrible numbers from a season ago, Davis is still only two years removed from a 13-touchdown season, and is expected to skew closer to that total than the dismal two-touchdown total he had in 2014. Davis is worth a dart-throw as a TE2, but nothing more, as he has far too much to prove.
