St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley shed his yellow non-contact beanie during practice Monday as he inches closer to being deemed ready for game action.
Todd Gurley sheds non-contact beanie, but fantasy value remains dormant
The Rams’ top pick in the 2015 draft won’t start Week 1, but is making strides toward taking the field. We break down the fantasy implications.

Though Gurley proclaimed that he can “do everything” in practice now, it’s unclear whether he has been cleared for full contact. It remains to be seen when the Rams will be ready to put him on the field, but encouraging reports continue. Per beat reporter Nick Wagoner, the rehab will now shift from strengthening the ACL itself to the body parts supporting it.
Fantasy Spin: It’s not quite time to put Gurley into lineups yet, but fantasy owners knew that going into their drafts. It should be considered a “win” for the Rams and his fantasy owners if Gurley sees the field during the month of October after sustaining the injury in November 2014.
Though he will likely be eased into action to start his career, the No. 10 overall pick in 2015 remains a high-upside running back and a premier stash to have on fantasy benches across the board.
