Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah (shoulder) is active for the team's Week 17 matchup against the Chicago Bears.
Ameer Abdullah injury update: RB active for Lions, fantasy owners
The Detroit Lions rookie running back is active for Week 17. We break down the fantasy implications.

Abdullah was a limited participant in practice throughout the week, but he’s ready to go in the final game of his rookie season.
Fantasy impact: The Lions have stuck to the running back by committee approach, which has severely limited the talented rookie’s upside. In the last three weeks, Abdullah has averaged only eight carries for 46 yards.
While he did manage to find the end zone for the first time since Week 3 in that span, his workload is way too inconsistent for him to be in starting lineups.
The only three times that Abdullah topped 7.5 standard fantasy points were the three games in which he put up a touchdown.
In the likely scenario that he doesn’t find pay dirt, he’s extremely likely to leave fantasy owners wanting more. Despite the easy matchup in Chicago, owners can do better for a Flex play.
