Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim announced Monday that starting quarterback Carson Palmer was still under the NFL’s concussion protocol, according to Cardinals beat writer Darren Urban. Keim went on in the interview to say that the three-time Pro Bowler was “feeling great by all indications,” despite not yet being cleared to participate in football activities. Palmer entered the NFL’s concussion protocol after being sacked in the fourth quarter of the Cardinals’ Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.
Carson Palmer still in concussion protocol, questionable for fantasy owners
The Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback has not been cleared to return to practice. We break down the fantasy implications.

Palmer was inactive for Arizona’s Thursday night divisional meeting with the San Francisco 49ers. The Cardinals face the New York Jets next Monday night, meaning the 14-year veteran will get a extra day of rest this week. However, Palmer is still questionable for Week 6.
Fantasy Impact: It is kind of surprising that Palmer is still under the concussion protocol on Monday. Concussions are one of those injuries that can sideline players for a while. Owners should monitor Palmer’s progress this week, but with an extra day to recover, there is a good chance the former Heisman winner will play.
Should Palmer be sidelined again this week, Drew Stanton will get another start in a favorable matchup. Stanton was not stellar Thursday night but he did throw for 124 yards and two touchdowns. He should be able to put up similar numbers against a Jets squad that gave up over 350 passing yards and four touchdowns in Week 5. Stanton could be worth the waiver pickup based on matchup alone if Palmer can not go.
