Washington tweeted Wednesday that tight end Jordan Reed experienced concussion symptoms during workouts on Tuesday and did not practice Wednesday. Later Wednesday, Reed entered the NFL’s concussion protocol, according to Rich Tandler of CSN Mid Atlantic. It is unknown how or when the four-year TE suffered the concussion.
Jordan Reed evaluated for concussion, uncertain for fantasy owners
Washington tight end Jordan Reed is under the NFL’s concussion protocol. We break down the fantasy impact.

Reed has a history of concussions, among other injuries, throughout his college and NFL career. This is unofficially his fifth concussion in a span of six years.
Reed was sidelined in training camp with an ankle injury, and he missed time in the preseason with a thumb injury. The 23-year-old TE has never played more than 14 games of the regular season since joining the NFL in 2013. His status is unknown for Week 6.
Fantasy Impact: This is pretty alarming for Reed and his fantasy owners. He has a long history of concussions, which is never a good thing. Officially, Reed is 50/50 for Washington’s division matchup against Philadelphia. Realistically, given his history, he probably will not play.
Expect veteran Vernon Davis to see an increase in targets Sunday if Reed is absent. With increased production, Davis is a good flex option given his experience.
