Top daily fantasy football tight end plays for Week 7
With Week 7 of the NFL season upon us, we take a look at some of the best tight end values to be found on FanDuel and some players worth fading.

PLAY
Hunter Henry $5,800 (San Diego Chargers at Atlanta Falcons)
Any concerns about Henry’s role with Antonio Gates back on the field were put to rest last week as Henry received the most targets of any game he’s played this season (8). Henry set season highs across the board with a 6-83-1 line, his third straight game with a touchdown. The Chargers figure to keep right on throwing in a game with shootout potential in Atlanta. With Travis Benjamin questionable, Henry’s workload should continue to expand. His price is going up on FanDuel but he is definitely in play to make or exceed value as an emerging star in San Diego.
Kyle Rudolph $5,400 (Minnesota Vikings at Philadelphia Eagles)
After three solid outings in a row, Rudolph had a dud in the Vikings’ last game before their bye. Hopefully that was enough to put him out of people’s minds, because that game was probably an outlier for the normally dependable tight end. His targets are almost always in the 7-10 range and he had three straight games with touchdowns before that lemon against Houston. The Philly defense will present a challenge to former Eagle Sam Bradford, but that just makes a safety valve like Rudolph even more valuable.
Cameron Brate $5,200 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers at San Francisco 49ers)
Brate has been in a steady decline for the past three games after making a huge splash with two touchdowns against the Rams in Week 3. But Brate could be due for a comeback this week, now that Vincent Jackson is out with a torn ACL. Mike Evans is already soaking up an amazing number of targets, so Jameis Winston is going to have to look somewhere else in the passing game occasionally, and Brate would seem to be a logical place to look. It’s a bit of a risk until we see how the post-VJax passing game shakes out, but jumping on the Brate Train early could pay off handsomely.
Jack Doyle $4,700 (Indianapolis Colts at Tennessee Titans)
Doyle has been coming on for the Colts the past four weeks and finally found the end zone last Sunday night against the Texans. His price is way behind his recent production and it’s really a bargain now that Dwayne Allen has been ruled out. Doyle is going to be extremely popular this week, but with a legit chance to go 4X, he’s going to be hard to avoid.
Vernon Davis $4,500 (Washington at Detroit Lions)
It’s a 49ers reunion in Detroit as Davis goes up against Anquan Boldin’s Lions. This is a great opportunity for Davis to find his former glory now that Jordan Reed has been ruled out for a second straight week. Davis racked up 50 yards and a touchdown on two catches last week against a fairly stingy Eagles pass defense. Now he gets to run wild against a porous pass defense in Detroit. With so many on Doyle at just $200 more, Davis is the sleeper value pick of the week.

Coby Fleener $5,900 (New Orleans Saints at Kansas City Chiefs)
In his past four games, Fleener has had two gems and two duds. The gems came at the Superdome. The duds were on the road. This week, the Saints are on the road. We talk about the Drew Brees “Coors Field” effect all the time. He is not the same quarterback on the road and Fleener appears to be most affected by this. Save him for the home games.
Jesse James $5,400 (Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New England Patriots)
James is going to be a nice player in this league and he was developing some pretty good chemistry with the friend of all tight ends, Ben Roethlisberger. But with Big Ben sidelined, the prospects are grim for the youngster and facing the Patriots this week is not a recipe for DFS success.
