Fantasy football projections, Week 7: Bills-Dolphins featuring LeSean McCoy, Robert Woods, Jay Ajayi, more
We break down the Week 7 matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins.

Buffalo Bills
A few weeks ago, coach Rex Ryan appeared to be on the hot seat in Buffalo. Now the team looks like a contender in the always tough AFC East. Week 6 featured a dominant performance over the struggling San Francisco 49ers. Running back LeSean McCoy was the star of the game, rushing the ball 19 times for 140 yards and three touchdowns. He now has 290 rushing yards in the last two games combined. Miami is fairly tough against opposing running backs, but Mccoy, much like Miami’s Jay Ajayi, is on fire right now. It’s hard to envision him not surpassing his projected totals this week.
Wide receiver Robert Woods, on the other hand, might live out a different story on Sunday. He’s acting as the team’s No. 1 receiver with Sammy Watkins on injured reserve. It’s translated into a lot of targets for Woods but not always a lot of production. Fortunately for his fantasy owners, Week 6 resulted in a pretty decent stat line for Woods: five catches, 44 yards, and a touchdown. Woods’ score represents his first of the season. He doesn’t quite have the breakaway speed of teammate Marquise Goodwin, but Woods can be a solid starter in PPR formats with a touchdown catch pretty well guaranteed to put him over his projected totals. It’ll be interesting to see if he can score for the second game in a row in Week 7.
Miami Dolphins
Few people expected the Dolphins to defeat the high-powered offense of the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6, but that’s exactly what Miami did. Running back Jay Ajayi was the X-factor in the game. Despite the fact that teammate Arian Foster is now back from injury, Ajayi saw the majority of touches against the Steelers. He turned 25 carries into a career-high 204 rushing yards to go with two touchdowns. By contrast, Foster only received three carries in the contest. Perhaps the team is just managing his touches as he recovers from his hamstring ailment. With Ajayi playing this well, however, he is sure to get more touches than Foster for at least the immediate future. The Buffalo Bills are playing really well defensively, but a hot Ajayi could surpass his projected Week 7 totals anyway.
Either way, it’s pretty much impossible that Ajayi will come anywhere close to 200 rushing yards against Buffalo. He will need teammate and wide receiver Jarvis Landry’s help to keep the Dolphins going offensively. Landry only has one touchdown this season, but he gets targeted with consistency and racks up receptions. He’s a juggernaut in PPR formats. Landry caught seven of nine targets against the Steelers for 91 yards. The yardage total represents his third highest of the season. Despite the fact Buffalo has a great defense overall, they only rank in the middle of the pack against wide receivers. Landry should find the ball in his hands early and often against the Bills.
