Editor’s update: Charles is ACTIVE. He is expected to have fairly limited snaps, so adjust your lineup accordingly.
Jamaal Charles could play, but fantasy status still in flux [Update]
There are conflicting reports about Jamaal Charles’ status for Week 7. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Kansas City Chiefs host the New Orleans Saints in Week 7, and the status of running back Jamaal Charles remains in doubt. Sunday morning, NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport tweeted there was “a lot of doubt” about Charles’ availability. Five hours later, Adam Schefter tweeted the Chiefs were optimistic Charles will be able to play, but it would be a limited workload, and even then, they want to test him out pre-game.
Fantasy implications: Spencer Ware remains the play in Kansas City. If you have Charles and Ware, you should start Ware, and sit Charles. If you have Charles, but no Ware, it gets a little trickier. Thankfully it’s an early game, so you will know if he is active by 11:30 a.m. ET. Charles is at best a flex play, and maybe a running back if injuries and/or bye weeks have left you short-handed. More than likely though, you should find another option in Week 7.
