Fantasy football projections, Week 10: Packers-Titans featuring Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Rishard Matthews, more
We break down the Week 10 matchup between the Green Bay Packers and the Tennessee Titans.

Green Bay Packers
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers has righted the ship, at least when it comes to his fantasy value. Although his team has lost its last two games, Rodgers has seven touchdown passes and one interception over that stretch. He went toe to toe with the Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck in Week 9 and finished with 297 passing yards and three touchdowns.
Even though James Starks is close to a return in the backfield, Green Bay still won’t have much of a rushing attack against Tennessee. That means Rodgers should be throwing early and often, which means his fantasy numbers will continue to be fantastic. Rodgers should smoke his projections in Week 10.
A high volume of throws should also benefit wide receiver Jordy Nelson. After a slow start of the season, it appears the Packers’ No. 1 receiver has found his stride. He caught seven passes for 94 yards and a touchdown against the Colts last week. The effort marked the second week in a row that Nelson finished with exactly 94 yards and a score.
If he does it for a third week in a row against Tennessee, that will make fantasy owners very happy. He should see around nine or 10 targets come his way from Mr. Rodgers. That represents plenty of opportunity for Nelson and his owners going into Week 10.
Tennessee Titans
As he gains more experience, quarterback Marcus Mariota is looking more and more like Tennessee’s version of Aaron Rodgers. He’s still got to make some strides in order to be considered an elite player, but he’s been realizing more of his potential in recent weeks. Mariota threw for 313 yards and three touchdown passes in a Week 9 loss to the San Diego Chargers. The game turned out to be a shootout.
The unfortunate part about it was the Mariota did throw two interceptions. The good news is he likely will find himself in a shootout against the Packers this week, which means even if he turns the ball over trying to force plays down the field, his stats overall will be just fine. Mariota provides considerable value in fantasy leagues in Week 10.
Hopefully Rishard Matthews benefits from an increased focus on the passing game this week. Matthews was a popular preseason draft pick in the fantasy community. It was expected that he would realize his potential as the No. 1 threat in Tennessee. The first month of the season did not go as anticipated. Fortunately he’s picked his game up lately.
Matthews has 10 catches for 101 receiving yards and three touchdowns over the last two weeks combined. He scored twice against the San Diego Chargers. Matthews isn’t exactly a sure bet just yet, but he does have at least four catches in four of his last five games. Hopefully that trend continues against Green Bay.
