Fantasy football projections, Week 10: Falcons-Eagles, featuring Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Darren Sproles, more
We break down the Week 10 matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Atlanta Falcons
Many are debating whether New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady should win the MVP race given that he missed the first four games of the season in suspension. Nobody is debating whether Matt Ryan is in contention for the prize.
He has thrown 23 touchdown passes this season compared with four interceptions. In Week 9, Ryan scorched the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for 344 passing yards and four touchdowns. The effort marked the fourth time this season that Ryan has thrown for at least 330 yards.
Philadelphia ranks fifth in the NFL in limiting fantasy points to quarterbacks, but it’s impossible to bet against Ryan surpassing his projections at the moment. He’ll be ready to go in Week 10.
Wide receiver Julio Jones should be ready, too. His numbers following last week’s win over the Bucs were also impressive. He caught 8-of-11 for 111 yards and a touchdown. The effort marked the third time in four games that Jones has eclipsed the 100-yard receiving plateau.
He’ll be in tough against the Eagles in Week 10, no doubt. Then again, Jones has been one of the best receivers in the league for years, and his quarterback is playing the best football of his career. Nobody can stop Julio Jones.
Philadelphia Eagles
Last week, coach Doug Pederson said Ryan Mathews was still the team’s lead running back. It appears he was telling a bit of a white lie. This week he has confirmed that Darren Sproles is the team’s go-to guy.
Still, Sproles’s value mostly lies in PPR formats, as he is much more effective dodging tackles in the open field than he is at finding holes from behind the line of scrimmage. If the Falcons pull ahead early or Week 10 turns into a shootout, Philadelphia will be forced to throw it to No. 43. Sproles’s projections will be easily put in the rearview mirror in a tasty matchup this Sunday.
The same can be said for wide receiver Jordan Matthews. Matthews is really the only receiving option the team has outside of Sproles. That’s why the Eagles were linked to the San Francisco 49ers’ Torrey Smith in recent trade rumors. Now that the deadline has come and gone, there’s no help coming for Matthews. He’ll once again get plenty of targets against the Falcons.
Only one team in the NFL has given up more points to fantasy wide receivers than Atlanta. Combine that with the fact Matthews has a whopping 24 targets in the last two weeks combined, and Week 10 should be a productive one for the wideout.
