Fantasy football projections, Week 10: Vikings-Washington featuring Stefon Diggs, Jordan Reed, Robert Kelley, more
We break down the Week 10 matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Washington.

Minnesota Vikings
It appears as though the Vikings are not as unbeatable as people were starting to think. The team has dropped three straight games. Fortunately for fantasy owners of Stefon Diggs, the receiver has picked up his game over that same stretch. Diggs has been targeted 27 times in the last two games combined. Against the Detroit Lions in Week 9, he caught 13 passes for 80 yards.
That’s a surprisingly low yard total considering the number of catches. In PPR formats, however, that box score would be considered fantastic. Fantasy owners are just going to have to take the good with the bad right now. Part of the bad is that Washington has been fairly decent at defending opposing fantasy wideouts in 2016. The bright side is that Diggs is the most talented player on the team not named Adrian Peterson and he’s getting lots of action. Double-digit targets this Sunday should see him climb over 100 receiving yards for the third time this season.
Tight end Kyle Rudolph will certainly try to help out his teammate by posing a threat down the middle in Washington. Rudolph has been quiet over the past month. He only caught a single pass against the Lions last week. Fortunately, it was for a 1-yard touchdown. Still, fantasy owners are going to need him to see more than three targets if Rudolph is to consistently surpass projections. Hopefully he is able to get open against Washington, a team that only ranks in the middle of the pack at defending the tight end position.
Washington
Tight end Jordan Reed returned to Washington’s lineup in Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals and he did so with a bang. Reed caught nine out of 13 targets for 99 yards and a touchdown. It was a gutsy effort coming off of yet another concussion coupled with a long trip to London. With the running game struggling, Reed is the team’s most reliable option. He’ll be targeted early and often against the Vikings in Week 10. His health has always been a question mark, but now that he’s back, expecting him to flirt with his projected totals on a weekly basis is totally fair. Reed should be busy against the Vikings.
Running back Rob Kelley should get plenty of work on Sunday, too. Coach Jay Gruden stated earlier in the week that he now considers Kelley to be the team’s early-down rusher.
Kelley put together a solid performance playing that role in Week 8. He rushed for 87 yards on 21 carries and scored a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals. That’s a 4.1 yards per carry average, which is pretty solid considering Kelley was no better than third on the team’s depth chart heading into the season. Sounds like Kelley is poised to reach well beyond his projections in Week 10 based on volume. He is, however, up against a pretty solid defense.
