Fantasy football projections, Week 10: Texans-Jaguars featuring DeAndre Hopkins, Lamar Miller, Allen Robinson, more
We break down the Week 10 matchup between the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Houston Texans
Over his last five games wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is averaging just 42 receiving yards per contest. That’s bad news for fantasy owners. It’s not just bad because he is struggling. It’s also bad because in the last few weeks the coaching staff has admitted Hopkins needs to see the ball more. He’s been targeted 34 times over the last three weeks combined so it’s not as if the ball isn’t coming his direction. Perhaps he just doesn’t have much of a rapport with quarterback Brock Osweiler yet. Unfortunately it’s hard to trust that he will get going even in a Week 10 battle against the lowly Jaguars. Hopkins is considerably more valuable in PPR formats than standard leagues. Right now it’s hard to trust that he can challenge his projections week to week no matter what the format is.
The more consistent option in Houston’s offense is running back Lamar Miller. Running backs coach Charles London said earlier in the week he believes Miller can be a workhorse option for the team moving forward. In the team’s Week 8 loss to Detroit, Miller carried the ball 17 times for just 56 yards but he scored his second rushing touchdown of the season. The Jaguars rank 15th in the NFL against fantasy running backs. As long as Miller gets the football at least 15 times he should be fairly productive.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Running back Chris Ivory is a popular waiver wire addition heading into Week 10. The Jaguars need a change of pace on offense in the worst way and it looks like Ivory is going to be counted on to provide it. He carried the ball 18 times for 107 yards and a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs in a Week 9 loss. Quarterback Blake Bortles isn’t getting the job done and neither is sophomore running back T.J. Yeldon. If a fantasy owner is going to start anybody on the Jaguars’ roster aside from wide receiver Allen Robinson, for now it’s got to be Ivory. Assuming he’s the lead back this Sunday, it shouldn’t be a problem for Ivory to surpass his projections.
But let’s get back to Robinson. It’s been a disappointing season for him to say the least but the good news is in the last two weeks he has been targeted 27 times. He has turned those looks into 13 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown. Hopefully the Jaguars can keep things close against the Texans. Houston ranks third in the league at defending opposing wide receivers. It’ll be interesting to see whether Robinson can break through and post a third straight solid effort against a legitimately good secondary unit.
