Fantasy football projections, Week 11: Buccaneers-Chiefs featuring Doug Martin, Cameron Brate, Tyreek Hill, more
We break down the Week 11 matchup between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Don’t look now, tight end Cameron Brate has himself a bit of a hot streak going. Brate found the end zone for the third week in a row against the Chicago Bears. He finished with seven catches and 84 yards, including the score, in Week 10. It was an impressive performance given Brate caught every single one of his targets. Fortunately for Brate, Kansas City only ranks in the bottom third of the league against offending fantasy tight ends. Quarterback Jameis Winston is obviously comfortable throwing him the football. Why wouldn’t he be? Brate is catching everything that comes his way right now. He should surprise people and surpasses projections this week even at the always tough Arrowhead Stadium.
Running back Doug Martin, on the other hand, will be lucky if he gets anywhere close to his projections in Week 11. Martin returns to the lineup against the Bears last week after missing the team’s previous six games due to injury. He saved his fantasy day by scoring his first rushing touchdown of the season, but he only finished with 46 total yards despite 17 touches. Martin will need to be better against the Chiefs that’s for sure, but it’s obvious you need some time to get up to game speed again. Reaching his projections this time around isn’t something fantasy owners should necessarily count on.
Kansas City Chiefs
Fantasy owners struggling at the wide receiver position would have benefited greatly if they added Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill to the lineup prior to Week 10. That’s because the receiver caught 10 passes for 89 yards against the Carolina Panthers. While taking Carolina’s secondary unit to school is something many teams have done this season, there’s a good chance Hill does it again against the Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is equally bad at defending the pass. Should he see double digit targets again with teammate Jeremy Maclin ailing, Hill will skyrocket passed his projections in Week 11.
He’ll likely get help in the passing game from tight end Travis Kelce. Kelce was limited to just three catches on six targets for 31 yards against the Panthers. His fantasy day was slightly aided by the fact one of his catches went for a two-point conversion. All in all the performance was slightly disappointing given how generous Carolina has been to opposing passing games this year. As bad as Tampa Bay is against the pass, they’ve done fairly well at covering the tight end position this season ranking in the top half of the NFL. Perhaps Kelce will drop that ranking down and have his stock go up beyond his projections in Week 11.
