Fantasy football projections, Week 11: Patriots-49ers featuring Tom Brady, Martellus Bennett, Carlos Hyde, more
We break down the Week 11 matchup between the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers.

New England Patriots
In what is easily going to be the most lopsided game of Week 11, fantasy owners shouldn’t be surprised of quarterback Tom Brady leads the league in points this week. The only reason he won’t is if the game gets completely out of hand by halftime. It’ll be a nice, juicy bounce back opportunity for No. 12. The Seattle Seahawks limited him to 316 passing yards, no touchdowns and his first interception of the season in Week 10. He should throw for over 300 yards and at least three touchdowns against San Francisco. It’s almost inconceivable that he would do anything less. Brady will put his projections in the rear view mirror in Week 11.
Brady may have to put up his fantasy points without throwing the ball to tight end Rob Gronkowski. Gronk missed practice during the week due to a chest injury and seems unlikely to play in Week 11. That gives the fantasy value of teammate Martellus Bennett a boost. Bennett appeared to be Brady’s new favorite target earlier this season. He caught three touchdown passes in Brady’s season debut. Bennett followed that up with three straight quiet games and then caught all seven of his passes last week for 102 yards. The Pats’ No. 2 tight end should play like a go-to guy in San Francisco.
San Francisco 49ers
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick may not be doing enough to help the 49ers win games on the field, but he may just be doing enough to help fantasy owners when head-to-head matchups. Playing catch-up all the time does have its benefits. Kaepernick completed just 17 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown against a tough Arizona Cardinals defense in Week 10. That alone would not have impressed fantasy owners. Fortunately Kaepernick also rushed the ball 10 times for 55 yards and scored a touchdown himself. He’ll likely end up with another strong box score in Week 11, but mostly because the Patriots will likely have a huge lead by halftime. The team will disappoint people, but Kaepernick should make fantasy owners very happy this week.
Running back Carlos Hyde may not. It’s not because he’s not a good running back. He’s the best player on the 49ers. What might stop him in Week 11 is the game flow scenario. Given that the 49ers will be playing from behind, San Francisco won’t be able to run the ball is much as they would probably like to. Add to that he’s only playing his second game since returning from injury and the fact that the Patriots will stack the box, and Hyde will be in tough. Fantasy owners should consider seeing Hyde get close to his projections as a bonus.
