Fantasy football projections, Week 11: Eagles-Seahawks featuring Jordan Matthews, .C.J. Prosise, Russell Wilson, more

The Week 11 matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Seattle Seahawks features teams with unique styles. We’ve got the fantasy projections courtesy of numberFire.

Wide receiver Jordan Matthews is starting to steady his production levels. That’s because he’s getting targeted a lot more. He’s seen at least 10 passes thrown his way in each of the last three games. In Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons, Matthews nabbed six catches for 73 yards. He’ll continue to get plenty of looks against Seattle. The unfortunate part for Matthews is that the game is on the road, he’s facing one of the best pass defenses in the league and also dealing with back spasms. He had trouble practicing throughout the week but is fully expected to play against the Seahawks. It’s going to be tough for him to reach his projections in Week 11.

Matthews’ ability to produce this Sunday all comes down to quarterback Carson Wentz. Wentz looked like a future superstar during the first month of the season. Over the last five games however, he’s made his superstar level of play seemed like a mirage. Inconsistency is to be expected from a rookie, but fantasy owners who are still starting Wentz may cost themselves a playoff spot down the stretch. Wentz has just two touchdown passes compared to four interceptions in the last five games. He was held out of the end zone in Week 10. Seattle ranks sixth in the NFL at defending fantasy quarterbacks. Do the math. Wentz is highly unlikely to touch his projections this time around.

The Seattle Seahawks have to be feeling pretty good about themselves right now. The offense has managed to put up 31 points in back-to-back games, leading to victories over the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots, respectively. The team’s performance has also led to the emergence of running back C.J. Prosise. Prosise rushed 17 times for 66 yards and added seven catches for 87 yards against the Patriots in Week 10. The performance was enough for the team to waive Christine Michael during the week. Even with Thomas Rawls returning from injury in Week 11, Prosise will be the lead back. He’ll crush his projections yet again against the Eagles, especially in PPR formats.

When Prosise needs a breather, Russell Wilson will look to teammates in the passing game. Wilson had his best game of the season against the Patriots. He completed 25 passes for 348 yards and three touchdowns. Successfully out dueling Tom Brady has to be a big time confidence boost for Wilson and his fantasy owners. The Seahawks’ leader should be able to continue his solid play against Philadelphia. That said, fantasy owners should bear in mind that the Eagles rank fifth in the league at defending the quarterback position.
