Fantasy football projections, Week 11: Packers-Washington featuring Aaron Rodgers, James Starks, Jordan Reed, more

The Week 11 matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Washington features one team looking to end a losing streak while the other tries to start a winning streak. We’ve got the fantasy projections courtesy of numberFire.

The Packers were grossly outplayed by Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans in Week 10. The game flow scenario actually worked out for fantasy owners of Aaron Rodgers however. Rodgers was forced to attempt a season-high 51 passes in the 47-25 blowout. The high volume led to 31 completions for 371 yards and two touchdowns. Rodgers also threw two interceptions in the contest. Week 11 should be a much closer game. Fantasy owners should note that Rodgers had thrown at least three touchdowns in three consecutive games prior to last week’s loss.

When he does need to give his arm a break, Rodgers will hand the ball off to James Starks out of the backfield. Starks returned to the lineup last week following knee surgery. He benefited owners in PPR formats even though he obviously need some time to get back up to speed. The Packers picked up Christine Michael off of waivers earlier in the week, but he won’t be a threat to Starks in Week 11. Washington has been generous to opposing running backs all year long. Starks should get plenty of opportunities to surpass his projections this week.

Wide receiver Jamison Crowder doesn’t deliver numbers ridiculous enough to be considered an elite fantasy option, but he’s probably starting in fantasy leagues thanks to his recent display of consistency. Crowder has either a touchdown catch or a minimum of 100 receiving yards in each of the last four games. The Minnesota Vikings managed to hold him to just four catches for 37 yards, but he scored. Green Bay isn’t nearly as good at defending opposing wide receivers as the Vikings are. With DeSean Jackson set to return to the lineup in Week 11, perhaps it opens up space for Crowder. Crowder shouldn’t lose any targets to Jackson. If the Packers put up lots of points on the board, he may actually get more than his usual share.

If Crowder struggles to get open throughout the course of the game, tight end Jordan Reed will probably carry the load for the team’s passing game. He was limited to just two catches for 41 yards against the Vikings in Week 10. The good news is that only five teams give up more points to fantasy tight ends than Green Bay. Reed has been targeted at least seven times in all but one game this year. That puts him in the same company as the likes of Rob Gronkowski. Reed should be in top form in Week 11. There is no reason to think he’ll fall below his projections for the second straight game.
