We are entering Week 12 of the fantasy football season. The playoffs are just around the corner and this is the time for owners to make a serious push to secure their postseason spot. It’s also Thanksgiving week with six teams playing on Thursday, so be sure to set your lineups early this week.
Fantasy football waiver wire: 4 quarterbacks to target for Week 12
There are no teams on bye this week, but the waiver wire will still be an important factor.

The bye weeks are just about done, which has to be a relief. No teams are off this week, which means owners can roll with their starting quarterbacks the rest of the way. There was also no significant injury news for QBs from Week 11, so the waiver wire action will probably be pretty light at the position this week. Nevertheless, owners could always use a decent backup on their benches, so here are some QB waiver options for Week 12, owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo! standard leagues.
Carson Wentz, Philadelphia Eagles (32 percent)
Wentz went into Seattle and was ... pretty bad, honestly. He completed just 51.1 percent of his passes, throwing two interceptions and only pumping up his stats in garbage time. It was not an inspiring performance, but then again, the Seahawks defense has a knack for making most QBs look like chumps. With Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles injured, the Eagles will likely need to lean on their rookie QB even more. The good news is that Wentz has an appealing matchup with the Green Bay Packers’ miserable defense.
Colin Kaepernick, San Francisco 49ers (18 percent)
Although Kaepernick still has long stretches of inept play, he’s avoided committing any turnovers the past two games and kept things relatively close Sunday before the New England Patriots pulled away late. Kaepernick isn’t a worthy starter in 12-team leagues, but he’s still useful in two-QB formats. The big concern for him is his Week 11 matchup with the Miami Dolphins and their solid defense. Kaepernick’s fantasy ceiling is pretty low this week.
Sam Bradford, Minnesota Vikings (16 percent)
The Vikings finally broke their four-game losing streak thanks to strong defense and an efficient game from Bradford, who completed 20 of 28 passes for just 169 yards and one touchdown. At this point, you pretty much know what you’re getting in Bradford -- QB2 numbers at best in a hyper-conservative offense. On the bright side, he’s thrown just two interceptions all year and established a stable fantasy floor. Bradford will be on the streaming radar against the Detroit Lions. When they last played in Week 9, Bradford lit up the Lions defense for 273 yards and a touchdown on 31-of-40 passing.
Josh McCown, Cleveland Browns (1 percent)
Cody Kessler suffered his second concussion of the year and the Browns are shutting him down, putting Josh McCown back in the lineup. Robert Griffin III is still a few weeks away from being cleared to play, so it looks like McCown will be the man ... as long as he stays healthy, which is always an iffy proposition with McCown. If you’re really desperate to find another starter in two-QB leagues, he might be worth a dart throw against the New York Giants this week.
