Fantasy football playoffs are one week away in most leagues. As the regular season comes down to the wire, owners need to make moves that give them the best chance for a playoff run. That could mean picking up a QB of waivers with a lot of potential or leveraging a peaking player’s value for some other need. Here are the quarterbacks to buy and sell for Week 13.
Fantasy football trade advice, Week 13: Buy-low, sell-high quarterback trade candidates
What quarterbacks have the best and worst trade values heading into Week 13 of the 2016 NFL season?

Buy Low
Trevor Siemian, Denver Broncos
Though Siemian struggled early, he had a monster game Sunday night throwing for 368 yards and three touchdowns in the overtime loss to Kansas City. He also had he best rushing effort carrying the ball for 23 yards for five carries. It was by far Siemian’s best game of the season and he did not have a easy opponent.
Siemian’s has a good chance of keeping this upward trend going. Week 13 in Jacksonville may be rocky, but the Broncos’ schedule following includes the worse passing defense in the NFL and a rematch with Kansas City. Siemian is just sitting around in a lot of leagues so he is a easy pickup with good streaming potential.

Alex Smith, Kansas City Chiefs
Smith has been carrying the Chief’s offense for a while now. The 11-year veteran is averaging a career-high 230 yards per game. Meanwhile, the running game has not been able to put up over 100 yards rushing for five straight weeks. That is not typical for a Chiefs’ run heavy offense.
Facing two of the league’s worse passing defenses will be a huge help for Smith in the upcoming weeks as the chiefs are dependent on the passing game. Owners that need a QB should grab Smith as a potential boom the next few weeks.

Sell High
Philip Rivers, San Diego Chargers
Rivers played really well on the road against Houston one of the tougher passing defenses in the league. He threw for 242 yards and three touchdowns in the win relaying heavily on the short pass game. Rivers is averaging over 277 yards and almost 3 touchdowns a game this last month.
However, the last two games Rivers has thrown five interceptions. He has thrown 12 interceptions so far this season one shy of his total picks last year. He also has six lost fumbles. With the Chargers receiving options essentially depleted and struggling offensive line, those turnovers are going to keep coming. Sell Rivers now before he starts to decline.

Marcus Mariota, Tennessee Titans
Mariota has been killing it lately. He has been a solid averaging around 250 yards passing yards per game and he has thrown six more touchdown passes so far this season than he in his rookie outing last year. Even more impressive, Mariota has once again added a running element to his game, rushing for 29 yards in Week 11 and 46 yards in Week 12.
Now that Mariota is a double threat, why sell? Well after the Titans bye week in Week 13 the tides are bound to shift for the 2015 second overall draft pick. The Titans face Denver, the number one passing defense in the league, Week 14 and get another tough matchup in Kansas City Week 15. Mariota should be able to keep it together, but it is unlikely he will have the same high production. Use all his stock while he is peaking.
