Fantasy football projections, Week 9: Colts-Packers featuring Andrew Luck, Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson
We break down the Week 9 matchup between the Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers.

Indianapolis Colts
The Kansas City Chiefs walked into Indianapolis in Week 8 and went home with a victory. The game itself was fairly lopsided. Andrew Luck did his best to mount a comeback attempt. He finished with 19 completions for just 210 yards and two touchdowns. The yardage total represented his lowest of the season. Luck should bounce back against the Packers in a game that will feature lots of offense on both sides. The fact wide receiver Donte Moncrief has returned from injury certainly gives Luck another option in the passing game.
Fantasy owners have been waiting a while for Moncrief to return. It might well prove to be worth waiting for by the time the regular season ends. He only managed four catches for 41 yards against the Chiefs but one of those catches resulted in his second touchdown of the season. .T.Y. Hilton temporarily left the game last week. If he’s less than 100 percent against the Packers, Moncrief should get more looks. That may help him rise above his projections in Week 9.
Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers may have come up short in a closely contested matchup against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8, but he still came up with solid fantasy numbers for his owners. He completed 28 passes for 246 yards and four touchdowns. The effort resulted in his second four-touchdown game of the season. Those that questioned whether Rodgers might have lost a step this season can hold their breath for now. He’s been pretty solid in three of the last four games. Indianapolis has a tough time defending opposing fantasy quarterbacks. Week 9 could be another huge one for Rodgers.
Connecting with wide receiver Jordy Nelson on Sunday will certainly help both players. Nelson caught four passes for 94 yards and a touchdown last week. Although he has scored six times this season, he has surpassed 73 yards just twice on the year. The yardage totals certainly aren’t what they used to be. As bad as the Colts are at defending opposing quarterbacks, they’ve been pretty tough against wide receivers this season. Given that it’s a home game for the Packers however, A-Rod shouldn’t have a problem connecting with his favorite target in Week 9.
