With Week 14 of the NFL season upon us, we take a look at some of the best wide receiver values to be found on FanDuel and some players worth fading.

Welcome to Week 14 of the Daily Fantasy season. While season-long leagues are down to their playoff weeks, leaving the majority of those owners with no games to play, the DFS world keeps chugging right along. This article looks at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at wide receiver who could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.

PLAY

Terrelle Pryor $6,700 (Cleveland Browns vs. Cincinnati Bengals)

Back in the preseason, the combination of Robert Griffin III to Pryor was the most electric in the league. Can the magic happen again with RG3 back under center? Against the Bengals at home, the answer is — why not? Griffin is certain to lock back onto his favorite target, who has shown he can be successful with a myriad quarterbacks throwing his way. It’s a wild card play, but one that has a chance to pay off handsomely.

Brandon LaFell $5,800 (Bengals at Browns)

LaFell has seen 25 targets over nearly three entire games since A.J. Green went down against the Bills in Week 11. Last week. LaFell had 95 yards receiving and a touchdown. While Tyler Boyd is the sexy pick among Bengals receivers, LaFell is the one getting it done. With two more overall targets, and against an atrocious Browns defense, there’s little reason to think LaFell is going to take a step backward this week.

DeSean Jackson $5,800 (Washington at Philadelphia Eagles)

Is it still a revenge game? Maybe yes, maybe no, but the reality is that the Eagles pass defense is very beatable right now and Jackson is the deep threat most capable of exploiting it. Jamison Crowder is $600 more and does his damage from the slot. Jackson is more likely to connect on the deep ball, and with rumors that D-Jax is eyeing a return to Philly in 2017, he will be more motivated to play for a potential payday than any lingering hard feelings over his departure.

Dontrelle Inman $5,500 (San Diego Chargers at Carolina Panthers)

Inman has really come on for the Chargers in the past three weeks, and quarterback Philip Rivers seems to be locking in on him. Tyrell Williams is still the top target, and he’s scored a touchdown in four straight games. But Inman has touchdowns in each of the past two games and had another TD wiped out last week by a penalty. More important, Inman is $1,300 less than Williams and actually had more targets last week (6-4). He’s a solid salary saver right now.

Taylor Gabriel $5,400 (Atlanta Falcons at Los Angeles Rams)

The guy just keeps on delivering, week after week, and while he is normally the third wide receiver and is priced that way, the Falcons have already ruled out Mohamed Sanu and even Julio Jones is a game-time decision with turf toe. And yet, despite the incredible opportunity, his ownership might be down after a lackluster performance last week. Don’t let that fool you. Gabriel is almost a must play at $5,400.

NAY
Julio Jones $8,300 (Falcons at Rams)

As mentioned above. Jones is dealing with turf toe and is considered a game-time decision in a 4:25 p.m. ET game. The last time I recommended not playing Julio in this space, he had something like 40 catches for 800 yards and 10 touchdowns in that game, so I’m a little nervous about this call. But because of his uncertainty, I can’t recommend a player that expensive who might not play.

Rishard Matthews $6,200 (Tennessee Titans vs. Denver Broncos)

I love Matthews. I have him in my season-long league, and I’ve used him extensively in DFS the past six weeks or so. That said, it’s the Broncos defense, and you’ve got to know when to fold ‘em.
