Fantasy football projections, Week 14: Washington-Eagles featuring Rob Kelley, DeSean Jackson, Jordan Matthews, more
We break down the Week 14 matchup between Washington and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Washington
Head coach Jay Gruden says that the team needs to get running back Rob Kelley more involved in the offense moving forward. That’s good news for his fantasy owners because Kelley has been subpar since rushing for three touchdowns against the Green Bay Packers in Week 11. Kelley has just 100 yards on 28 carries combined in the two games since that performance. Given that an average of 14 carries per game in Gruden wants to get him more involved, it’s not crazy to assume that Kelley is in line for 20-plus touches against Philadelphia this week. While that is reason to be optimistic about his immediate future prospects, keep in mind the Eagles ranked eighth in the NFL at defending opposing running backs. Still, Kelley should be able to top his projections thanks to an increased workload in Week 14.
Hopefully for fantasy owners, wide receiver DeSean Jackson sees an increased workload as well. Jackson caught just one pass on only four targets against the Arizona Cardinals last week. The Cardinals do boasts two of the best cornerbacks in the NFL in the starting lineup and they were obviously able to take care of business. Jackson is in a contract year and Washington is fighting to keep its playoff hopes alive. For that reason, Jackson should be a lot more involved against the Eagles in Week 14. Crossing the 100-yard receiving plateau for the third time in four games is not unrealistic this week.
Philadelphia Eagles
Wide receiver Jordan Matthews has been hampered by an ankle injury of late. The good news is that shouldn’t stop him from playing against Washington in Week 14. He last played in Week 12 against the Green Bay Packers, catching all four of his targets for 47 yards. Matthews has now been held out of the end zone in four straight games and has scored only once in the last seven weeks. He’s also surpassed 75 receiving yards in a game just twice this season. Given the fact quarterback Carson Wentz is obviously still learning, Matthews has a tough time reaching his projected totals on any given Sunday. Week 14 will be no exception.
Wentz has failed to recapture the magic he had going back in September. Despite a season-high 60 pass attempts against the Cincinnati Bengals last week, Wentz finished the game with 308 passing yards, one touchdown, and a career-high three interceptions. He could have thrown two other interceptions had Bengals defenders not dropped the ball. While Wentz is undoubtedly very talented, fantasy owners starting him in the postseason are taking a huge gamble. He’s unlikely to reach his projected totals the rest of the season.
