Fantasy football projections, Week 15: Dolphins-Jets featuring Jarvis Landry, Jay Ajayi, Bilal Powell, more
We break down the Week 15 matchup between the Miami Dolphins and the New York Jets.

Miami Dolphins
Wide receiver Jarvis Landry put together his third 100-yard game of the season against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 14. Most of his production came on a 71-yard play in the third quarter. He finished with four catches for 103 receiving yards. The Jets have been very generous defensively this season. With Matt Moore starting at quarterback thanks to Ryan Tannehill dealing with a knee injury, the Dolphins are likely to call a conservative game plan on Saturday. That could mean lots of passes to the slot receiver for short gains. In PPR formats, Landry will most definitely surpass his projected totals this week. In standard leagues, he will only exceed expectations if he’s able to score a touchdown. Keep in mind he’s only scored two touchdowns this season.
The safest bet for fantasy production out of Miami is running back Jay Ajayi. He’s facing one of the worst run defenses in the league while playing for a team starting the backup quarterback. It looks like all of the stars are perfectly aligned for Ajayi’s owners, who should be expecting a big week from him. While Ajayi has been held to less than 50 rushing yards twice in the last three weeks, the San Francisco 49ers put up 248 yards against the Jets last week.
New York Jets
It’s been a tough season for fantasy owners of wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Usually one of the best in the game, Marshall has been held to 70 receiving yards or less in eight straight games. He’s also found the end zone just once over that stretch. That touchdown came back in Week 12. It’s hard to trust Marshall as an option now that we are in the fantasy postseason. He shouldn’t be expected to reach his projected totals for the rest of the year given the Jets are now starting a third-string quarterback. Marshall has definitely seen better days. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him wearing a different uniform in 2017.
The only player worth counting on this week is running back Bilal Powell. Powell notched his first 100-yard game of the season and his best fantasy performance on the year against the 49ers last week. He finished with 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 29 carries. Even though his performance was top-notch, it’s important to keep in mind that Powell only has one other rushing touchdown this season. That came back in Week 8. Powell will perform well enough to surpass his projections against Miami assuming that teammate Matt Forte misses his second straight game.
