Welcome to Week 15 of the Daily Fantasy season. While season-long leagues are down to their playoff weeks, leaving the majority of those owners with no games to play, the DFS world keeps chugging right along. This article looks at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at quarterback who could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.
Top daily fantasy football quarterback plays for Week 15
With Week 15 of the NFL season upon us, we take a look at some of the best quarterback values to be found on FanDuel and some players worth fading.

PLAY
Tyrod Taylor $7,600 (Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns)
Targeting a quarterback against the Browns defense has been about the best strategy in DFS all season, and with contract talk over Taylor taking center stage this week, there is even more incentive for him to go out and put on a big show this weekend. Sammy Watkins is performing capably despite his foot injury, and LeSean McCoy is one of the deadliest check-down options in the game. Taylor is poised for a major breakout this week, and his price is still reasonable on FanDuel.
Philip Rivers $7,800 (San Diego Chargers vs. Oakland Raiders)
As long as Rivers throws the ball to the guys on his own team, he is set up for a productive afternoon. With Melvin Gordon and his massive red zone presence on the sideline, Rivers will be throwing it more than ever, and that says something considering his gunslinging ways. Rivers has thrown at least 39 times in three of his past six games, and he should easily eclipse that number on Sunday. It’s all about volume here.
Colin Kaepernick $7,500 (San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons)
Kaepernick did not rise to the occasion last week against the seemingly reeling Jets, putting up just 11 FanDuel points. But it should be noted that in the two games Kaepernick started against defenses ranked 24th or lower, he has had his two best fantasy outputs of the season. This week, Kaepernick gets No. 32 in the Falcons. His recent struggles should keep ownership low, making him a sneaky play.
Joe Flacco $7,400 (Baltimore Ravens vs. Philadelphia Eagles)
Early in the season, the Eagles defense was one of the toughest in the league, highlighted by holding the Steelers to three points. Those days are long over. Nothing is going right for Philadelphia right now, on either side of the ball. The Ravens are playing for their playoff lives, and Flacco has 50 FanDuel points over the past two weeks. He should be productive in this one.
Alex Smith $6,800 (Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tennessee Titans)
Smith is about as unsexy as any successful quarterback has been over the past five years. He’s been particularly solid for the Chiefs, who have won 20 of their past 24 games. What Smith has going for him this week is an opponent that funnels teams to throw against them to move the ball, and with Tyreek Hill having established himself as a deep threat to complement Travis Kelce, Smith has a legit passing game to work with. At a discounted price, Smith could be the tournament-winning play.
NAY
Aaron Rodgers $8,500 (Green Bay Packers at Chicago Bears)
They are calling for record-low temperatures in Chicago this weekend, and Rodgers is still dealing with calf and hamstring injuries that generally don’t react well to cold. The Bears have actually been defending the pass well this season, so risking so much salary on a potentially limited Rodgers in a bad spot matchup and weather-wise is not likely a winning formula.
Andrew Luck $8,100 (Indianapolis Colts at Minnesota Vikings)
Donte Moncrief is already ruled out and T.Y. Hilton has a date with Xavier Rhodes. I’d use the Vikings defense against Luck before I’d roster Luck against that defense.
