Top daily fantasy football wide receiver plays for Week 15

Welcome to Week 15 of the daily fantasy season. While season-long leagues are down to their playoff weeks, leaving the majority of those owners with no games to play, the DFS world keeps chugging right along. Here we look at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at wide receiver that could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.

Watkins is still dealing with an injured foot that almost derailed his entire season, but he is making the most of his playing time when he’s out there. Last week, Watkins caught four passes for 54 yards and his first touchdown of the season against a solid Steelers secondary. The Browns defense is the opposite of solid, and Watkins could have his breakout game — albeit in Week 15 — of the 2016 season. He is still remarkably cheap on FanDuel and needs just one big play to make value.

Matthews finally had a clunker last week after producing solid numbers for weeks. He can be forgiven, considering the Titans were facing the Broncos, the top pass defense in the league. That will not be the case this week against the Chiefs, and this is an excellent bounce-back spot for Matthews, who will likely see a low ownership because of recency bias. Take advantage and get back on the Rishard train.

Inman scored for the third consecutive week last Sunday, and he remains one of Philip Rivers’s top targets along with Tyrell Williams. With Melvin Gordon on the shelf, Rivers is likely to throw the ball even more than usual, and that can only mean more targets for Inman. He is cheaper than Williams and will go less owned, making him the better tournament target.

Even with the return of Jeremy Maclin, Hill just keeps on rolling. He scored a pair of touchdowns in last Thursday’s win over the Raiders and should be just as active this week against a defense that funnels opponents into its passing game. Hill should be good for at least one long touchdown in this one.

Julio Jones is out once again, and there is nothing at all challenging against this 49ers defense. The only concern is that the Falcons might run it to death against the worst run defense in the league, but at some point Matt Ryan is going to take some deep shots, and Gabriel is clearly the top man in this regard. At $5,800, he remains a ridiculous bargain considering his production.

With Donte Moncrief ruled out, Hilton will see plenty of Xavier Rhodes, which strips away all of Hilton’s upside. This figures to be a long day for the Colts’ passing game, and fading Hilton at $7,300 appears to be the prudent move.

Thomas is expected to play, but so is Tyrann Mathieu. With Drew Brees less than himself on the road, this matchup clearly favors the defense. If Thomas draws Patrick Peterson on defense, he is a must-fade.
