Fantasy football projections, Week 15: Titans-Chiefs featuring DeMarco Murray, Marcus Mariota, Travis Kelce, more
We break down the Week 15 matchup between the Tennessee Titans and the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tennessee Titans
The Titans captured a big win over the Denver Broncos in Week 14, but fantasy owners of quarterback Marcus Mariota aren’t exactly ecstatic about it. That’s because Mariota completed just six passes for 88 yards and no touchdowns in the game. It was easily his worst fantasy performance of the season. Now he faces a tough test as the team heads to Arrowhead Stadium in the middle of the fantasy postseason. While Mariota will most certainly post better numbers against the Chiefs than he did against the Broncos, consider how fantastic the Chiefs were at limiting Oakland’s Derek Carr last week. Carr totaled just 117 passing yards and did not throw a touchdown pass. Counting on Mariota to reach his projections in Week 15 is probably a bit too optimistic.
Running back DeMarco Murray is much more likely to do just that. After being held out of the end zone on the ground in back-to-back games, Murray scored his ninth rushing touchdown of the season last week. He finished with 92 rushing yards on 21 carries. That’s a solid 4.4 yards per carry against a strong Broncos defense. Those starting Titans players in fantasy leagues should go with Murray over any other player on their roster. The Kansas City Chiefs are on fire, so a conservative Tennessee game plan favors the running game above all else.
Kansas City Chiefs
Travis Kelce is officially the hottest tight end in the NFL. After going over 100 receiving yards just once in his first seven games, Kelce has accomplished the feat in four straight games. He caught five out of eight targets for 101 yards against the Raiders last week. Fantasy owners will certainly be depending on Kelce to keep the streak alive against Tennessee, a team that only ranks in the middle of the pack as far as defending opposing tight ends is concerned.
Although Kelce is on quite the streak of late, teammate Tyreek Hill is the pass catcher with the highest ceiling in Kansas City. That’s particularly true in fantasy leagues that reward special teams play. Hill caught all six of his targets for 66 yards and a touchdown in Week 14. The effort marked the fifth game in a row that Hill has caught at least four passes. He’s also returned two kicks for touchdowns in the last three weeks. Few fantasy owners knew anything about him in the first half of the season, but it’s clear the fastest player in the NFL has added a dimension to the Chiefs’ offense that makes him valuable in the fantasy postseason. Keep in mind the Titans have given up the most fantasy points in the league to the wide receiver position.
