Welcome to Week 16 of the Daily Fantasy season. While season-long leagues are down to their championship weeks, leaving the majority of those owners with no games to play, the DFS world keeps chugging right along. This article looks at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at tight end who could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.
Top daily fantasy football tight end plays for Week 16
With Week 16 of the NFL season upon us, we take a look at some of the best tight end values to be found on FanDuel and some players worth fading.

PLAY
Cameron Brate $5,600 (Tampa Bay Buccaneers at New Orleans Saints)
He has not been the most consistent tight end on the landscape, but Brate does have a touchdown in five of his past eight games, and even with Adam Humphries stepping up as a receiving alternative to Mike Evans, Brate still put up 15.8 FanDuel points last week. There should be plenty of passing offense to go around in the Superdome on Saturday, so don’t be shy about rostering him.
Antonio Gates $5,400 (San Diego Chargers at Cleveland Browns)
Tight ends against Cleveland is about the surest thing there is in DFS. Gates remains on the precipice of the all-time touchdown record for tight ends, and with nothing left to play for, don’t be shocked if Philip Rivers locks in on Gates every time the Chargers reach the red zone. Roll with the narrative here.
Dion Sims $5,100 (Miami Dolphins at Buffalo Bills)
Here’s a name we haven’t seen in this column before, but Sims does have four touchdowns over his past three games. He’s cheap and probably won’t be highly owned, if you want to bank on the production continuing for another week.
Vernon Davis $4,700 (Washington at Chicago Bears)
Jordan Reed is a longshot to play and Davis continues to draw targets, setting a season high with nine on Monday night. He should see at least that many against the Bears, it’s just a matter of whether he can turn them into points. At $4,700, a touchdown would probably mean value achieved.
Charles Clay $4,500 (Bills vs. Dolphins)
That’s two straight games with a touchdown and 29.4 FanDuel points combined. Yet, Clay sits at the minimum salary line. There’s worse ways to save on salary.
NAY
Jimmy Graham $6,200 (Seattle Seahawks vs. Arizona Cardinals)
Two catches on six targets would be a disturbing enough line for any high-priced receiver. But that’s Graham’s total for the past TWO games combined. What is going on here? The Cardinals may be packing it in, but they’re not so bad that Graham is going to suddenly regain his form this week.
Ryan Griffin $5,000 (Houston Texans vs. Cincinnati Bengals)
Griffin was terrific last week, catching all eight of his targets for 86 yards. But that’s because C.J. Fiedorowicz was out of the lineup with a concussion. C.J. is expected back this week, and that’s the end of the Griffin show.
